On Tuesday evening, a tornado swept through Old Market Square and Main Street of Easley severely damaging many downtown businesses. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities. Poor Richard's Booksellers was very lucky in that we had almost no damage done to our building. We feel very blessed and we are incredibly grateful. Our neighbors whose buildings were damaged are in our thoughts.

For safety reasons, the electricity was off yesterday and this morning. However, the electricity and gas are now back on and Main Street is open again. We are here in the store and will be open today until 5:30 pm. Tomorrow (Friday, December 3rd) we will be open from 9am until 7pm.
Our open house will continue as planned. We're excited to have so many fantastic local authors in the store.  Plus, we will have food and door prizes as well. Please come join us and celebrate our victory against the feisty old Tornado!

So many people called to check in on the bookstore and to offer their help in the cleanup. We appreciate this more than anything. We love our community and are so grateful to be here.
